Sometimes we all just need a refresher or quick reference guide for brioche stitches. If this is the case for you then these are the videos you should bookmark.
The techniques covered here are:

Or try a Brioche Cardigan here or a two colour Brioche Shawl here.
This video will explain how to work the brioche stitch, flat using 2 colours.
With two colour brioche you work each side twice, sliding the stitches back to the start of the needle (circular needle is needed) to work the second colour.
On each side of your work it looks almost identical but the colour of the brioche knit columns on that side will be the dominate side. For this reason instead of labelling the sides right and wrong side we will refer to them as Dark Side (DS) and Light Side (LS).
If you are new to Brioche I'd suggest checking out my free Brioche Workshop here:
Brioche Knit (brk)
Knit yarnover and stitch together.
Brioche Purl (brp)
Purl yarnover and stitch together.
Sl1yo
When it follows brk: Bring yarn to front of work, slip stitch purlwise, bring yarn to back of work over needle to work next stitch which creates a yarnover and position yarn to work brk.
When it follows brp: Slip stitch purlwise, bring yarn from front to back over needle and back between needles to create yarnover and position yarn to work brp.
In this knitting tutorial, learn to work a Tubular Bind Off | Creates a stretched 1x1 Ribbed bind-off that's ideal for finishing your Brioche projects!
If you need a very stretchy ribbed cast-on then the Italian Cast-On is what you're looking for!
This is the idea cast-on for Brioche as it perfectly mimics the brioche rib. You can even do a two colour version by using different colour strands for each side of the yarn.

In this knitting tutorial, learn to work a German Twisted Cast On | Great for any edging you need with a bit of stretch, for the edge of shawls and even Brioche.
When you are working the Brioche Stitch you alternate between Brioche Knit (brk) and slip one, yarnover (sl1yo).
When worked flat you work the same on both sides of your work, working the brk into the stitch that had been slipped on the other side.
However if you are working the Brioche Stitch in the round you will alternate between a round worked with the brk stitch and a round worked with a brp stitch.
You can find the video for the brp here.

When you are working the Brioche Stitch in the round you alternate between a Brioche Knit round and a Brioche Purl round.
To work the brioche purl round you will work a brioche purl (brp) stitch and then the next stitch is slip one, yarnover (sl1yo). These two stitches are repeated to create the round.
You can find the video for the brioche knit round here.

I've discovered that German Short Rows work very well with Brioche Stitch, just make sure you make your turns in 2 stitch increments so that you don't mess up the Brioche Stitch pattern.
