Learn how to knit short row colourwork in this very wearable, narrow scarf. This style of colourwork uses short rows to create waves of colour in your work, creating a fascinating combination of shapes and colour.

There are two versions of the scarf shown, with the colours mirrored in the second scarf. To maximise the yarn available one scarf has an extra repeat of the central motif, creating a slightly longer length.

Motifs are modified from Wolly Wormhead’s ‘Short Row Colorwork’ book.

SIZES
One Size

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Width at Centre: 5.75” / 14.5 cm
Version 1 Length: 56” / 142 cm
Version 2 Length: 52” / 132 cm

YARN
LITLG ‘DK Twist’ (100% Superwash Merino; 252 yds / 230 m per 4.06 oz / 115 g);
Col A: Rain, 1 skein
Col B: Emerald Eve, 1 skein

Approx yardage: Col A: 208 yds / 189 m; Col B: 67 yds / 61 m

Version 2 will reverse the colours and work one repeat less of the Tulipano repeat.
Each Tulipano Repeat: Col A: 19 yds / 17 m; Col B: 5.75 yds / 5.25 m

Note: I was able to make two scarves from the two skeins, reversing the colours for each to make maximum use of the yarn. The second scarf requires one less repeat of the Tulipano Central Pattern to ensure I had sufficient yarn to complete the final decreases.
