The blanket uses the ‘Log Cabin’ style of construction where it starts with a small garter stitch central square. This then grows by working small strips outwards from this centre by picking up stitches and working a new strip on each side.

We are putting a twist on this traditional style blanket, using a combination of garter stitch and gansey style knit/purl stitches to work this interesting construction with some added fun!

This blanket will be created by building several log cabin squares. This way you can easily adjust the size and shape of your blanket to suit your needs and your yarn amounts. There will be 12 different gansey strips in the pattern that you can mix and match as you work. Because you are moving around a square, the number of stitches from the different strips will vary, but the depth of each strip will remain the same.
