Ceangal Wrap Pattern
The Ceangal (pronounced between Kan-gal and kee-ANG-gal) Wrap is a knitted tribute to the Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim. This stunning rock formation, with hexagonal basalt columns battered by waves, has inspired tales of legendary giants, and the cable motifs used in this wrap.
Worked as a long, narrow strip, this wrap features a flowing wave cable motif set against panels of garter stitch and reverse stockinette. The garter stitch keeps the fabric beautifully stable, while the reverse stockinette adds contrast to make the cables stand out.
The result is a wrap with bold texture and lasting shape. It's an ideal project for confident beginners or intermediate knitters who love a rhythmic, rewarding knit.
