Learn to Knit: Knitted Fringe

I've recently been experimenting with knitted fringes and the first pattern that uses a knitted fringe is Aruba. While knitting this shawl a few knitters were concerned over the fringe and how it works. I've put a small video clip together using a little swatch showing how the fringe unraveling works.

Why not try this technique in Aruba: 

There are however many other ways to add a knitted fringe. One of the most common is to add the fringe afterwards. This way you can easily control the length and thickness of the fringe and it's easy to move the position if you change your mind.
